Zack Reuter Coaching
Privacy Policy
Last updated October 22, 2026
Zack Reuter Enterprises LLC, doing business as Zack Reuter Coaching (“we”, “us”), provides endurance coaching for triathlon, cycling and running. This policy explains what information we collect through the athlete portal at portal.zackreuter.com (the “Portal”) and through any accounts you choose to connect to it, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions: zack@zackreuter.com.
Who can see your information
Only you and your coach. The Portal is invite-only, and each athlete’s data is stored in a separate space that the Portal’s security rules restrict to that athlete and to Zack Reuter Coaching. Other athletes can never see it. Notes you mark as private on a workout are visible to you only.
What we collect
- Account details: your name and email address. Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication; we never see or store them.
- Training information you or your coach add: training plans, planned workouts, messages, uploaded files (for example workout files, photos, videos, race results and documents), training zones and thresholds, and workout logs such as comments, perceived effort, fueling and hydration.
- Workout data: activity files you upload (such as .fit files) and, if you connect a device account such as Garmin Connect, the activities it shares with us. We keep date and time, sport, duration, distance, heart rate, power, pace, speed, cadence, elevation, laps and device-reported metrics such as perceived effort. The workout records the Portal builds leave out GPS location; a file you upload is kept as you uploaded it (including any route it contains) so you and your coach can download it, until you delete it.
- Technical information: basic sign-in and security logs (for example time of sign-in and IP address) kept by our hosting providers to protect accounts. The Portal does not use advertising or analytics trackers.
How we use it
- To coach you: build and adjust your training plan, review completed workouts against the plan, and track fitness, fatigue and race readiness.
- To run the Portal: show your calendar, charts and files, deliver messages, and send account emails such as invitations and password resets.
- To keep the Portal secure and working.
We do not sell your information, share it for advertising, or use it for any purpose unrelated to your coaching.
Connected accounts (Garmin)
When available, connecting a Garmin Connect account is optional. When you connect, Garmin asks for your permission, and Garmin sends us the activity data you authorize so it appears in the Portal without manual uploads. We use it only as described in this policy, keep the connection credentials encrypted, and never receive your Garmin password. Data from Garmin is never sold or shared with anyone else. You can disconnect at any time from the Portal or from your Garmin Connect account settings; we then stop receiving new data, and we delete the data we received from Garmin when you ask us to.
We do not currently connect to Strava.
Where it’s stored and who processes it
Your information is stored in the United States by service providers that process it on our behalf:
- Google Cloud / Firebase: sign-in, database, file storage and the processing of workout files (U.S. West data centers).
- Vercel: hosting of the Portal’s web pages.
- Google Workspace: our email, used to send Portal emails and correspondence.
Your coaching notes and training plans are kept in the Portal too, under the same protections; they are not stored anywhere else.
How we protect it
Invite-only accounts, strong password requirements, encrypted connections (HTTPS), encryption at rest by our providers, and access rules that limit each athlete’s data to that athlete and the coach. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures and will tell you promptly if a breach affects your information.
How long we keep it
While you are a coached athlete, and afterward until you ask us to delete it or we no longer need it for your coaching. When coaching ends we remove your Portal access; on request we permanently delete your account and data within 30 days, except where we must keep something to meet a legal obligation.
Your choices and rights
- See, download, correct or delete your information. Much of it you can manage yourself in the Portal; for anything else, email us.
- Disconnect connected accounts at any time.
Depending on where you live (for example California or the European Economic Area), you may have further rights under local law. We honor those requests and will not treat you differently for making them. Email zack@zackreuter.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Children
The Portal is for adult athletes aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and for significant changes we will tell you in the Portal or by email before they take effect.
